This is be a tough time for families, so let’s focus on what it means to have a positive mindset. Remember, you are the one who is in charge of your thoughts and mind. While it’s not always easy to focus on the positive in difficult situations, keep in mind:

  • If you focus on positive first, you will be more likely to continue to have a positive mindset
  • If you focus on the negative first, you will be more likely to have a negative mindset

One way you can have a positive mindset is smiling more.  This will improve your mood. When your mood improves it also improves the way the people around you feel. That will also help to give you a positive attitude, which will lead to a positive mindset. 

Another way you can have a positive mind set is starting your day on a positive/happy note. Did you know that If you start off your day with something that makes you happy, you are more likely to continue having a good day? Well, believe it, because getting into a good habit in the morning will make your day better. Maybe its something simple like making your bed after you wake up, drinking a fresh glass of water, or petting your dog. Find a simple thing that makes you happy, or something that puts you in a good mood and do it every day!

  1. Enjoy the outdoors! Spend time outside with family, and enjoy the fresh air.
  2. Play sports, boardgames, chess, or video games.
  3. Judge a talent show in your home, see who has the best talent.
  4. Have a drawing competition, see who can draw the best in the fastest time.
  5. Practice your instrument and/or practice singing.
  6. Clean your house, or your room. A clean space is a happy place.
  7. Help make dinner. Learn how to bake, or cook.
  8. Try and teach your pet a new trick.
  9. Grab a piece of paper and write a story. Write about your feelings, and what it feels like to be apart of history!
  10. Spread positivity, it only takes one small smile!
